'Poolside' is a more conventional painting, with the whole scene in the image and realistic colouring.
Although reflection and shadows are a large part of the painting, none of the surface detail of 'Pool' is visible.
Despite being a realistic depiction of the scene, the painting is still stylised. I worked from a computer-processed image
(the image being blurred, among other things) which, to my eyes, produced a more pleasing image,
and a more faithful representation of my memory of the scene.
